DJ/producer Oro11 is co-founder of the equatorially inclined Bersa Discos label, renowned Tormenta Tropical parties, and half of the burgeoning Banana Clipz production outfit collaborating with artists such as Delorean, Los Rakas, and El Guincho. His love for the sun-soaked genres of cumbia, reggaeton, and other global sounds remains at the core of his work. As a DJ who played the first-ever ZZK party and a producer who honed his chops by combining cumbia with hip-hop, dancehall, and other electronic sounds while living numerous years in Buenos Aires, Oro11 is an artist who knows his way around bumping basslines and international dancefloor rhythms.
Taking their cues from traditional “roots” music of Colombia, Haiti, Belize, Honduras and the Dominican Republic. Buyepongo create a very vibrant polyrhythmic sound by seamlessly fusing merengue, punta, and cumbia. The group’s pulse and power is built around the drum and guacharaca(pronounced: wah cha rah ca) giving them an upbeat tropical flare
